A President-Elect and other Board of Director positions are open every fall. A treasurer is elected every other year. Nominations will be accepted at the SWPONL Annual Conference until the end of September. SWPONL membership will then vote on the candidates to finalize the Board of Directors for the upcoming year.

Nominations open: Thursday, September 3, 2026
Nominations close: Thursday, September 24, 2026 at 11:59 PM ET

Please complete the nominations form for an open position:

• One (1) President-Elect (three-year term; one year each as President-Elect, President, and Past President)
• Four (4) Directors at Large (three-year term)

Please note that only active members are eligible to serve on the Board of Directors.

Before beginning the nominations form, please be sure to have your personal statement prepared: 

Provide a brief (250 words or less) personal statement that includes two or more of the following topics.  This statement will be shared with members for voting consideration. 

• The Value of SWPONL membership
• Why you are a member
• Why you would like to serve on the Board of Directors
• What direction you would like to see the organization go in the next few years and what you would like to help accomplish
• Educational Background and/or Past Professional Positions

If you are nominating a colleague, you will need to provide a brief statement explaining why you are nominating the individual and what makes them a strong candidate.
